- Soften your lips 1. A strong lipstick color will cling to the dry parts of your lips, so a gentle exfoliation before applying the color is essential to remove rough areas and maintain an even tone.
- Prep your lips 1. A thin layer of your favorite Chapstick moisturizes and softens lips, allowing the color to glide on easily and leave an even color on your lips .
- Keep the color in place 1. Line your mouth with a color that matches your natural lip tone. It will act as a barrier , preventing the color from bleeding out of your mouth. Why a neutral liner and not one that matches your lipstick? If your lip color wears off or rubs off in the center of your lips, you don't want to be left with a ring around your mouth.
- Go easy on it 1. Carefully apply one or two coats of colour using a lip brush. The lipstick will dry faster and adhere better to your lips than if you apply a thick, smudge-prone layer straight from the tube .
- Blot the lipstick after applying it 1. To prevent smudging and smearing, blot your painted lips with a square of tissue paper or toilet paper. This will remove the top, sticky layer of colour and make the finish look flawless and more durable .
